Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus Urges Bangladesh Customs to Drive Economic Dynamism

Chief Adviser Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus has expressed optimism that Bangladesh Customs will play a leading role in strengthening the country’s economic base and expanding revenue through efficient trade operations.
In a message marking International Customs Day 2025, Dr Yunus said, “In building a changed Bangladesh, I believe Customs will infuse dynamism into the economy by simplifying import and export operations.”
This year’s theme, ‘Customs Delivering on its Commitment to Efficiency, Security and Prosperity,’ reflects the importance of modern, technology-driven customs management in promoting sustainable trade.
Dr Yunus highlighted the vital role of Customs in expanding international trade, attracting investment, protecting local industries, and maintaining economic stability.
He praised Customs officials for their continued efforts in revenue collection, environmental safety, and health compliance, emphasizing that technology can further enhance inspection and clearance efficiency.
Concluding his message, Dr Yunus wished success for the observance of International Customs Day 2025 and reaffirmed his belief that Bangladesh Customs will continue contributing to national progress.
